Continuum A.D. Mk IV

The Continuum A.D. Mk IV represents the next evolutionary step above the legendary Timepiece 3.0 Mk IV. Being the second design to become a member of the Millennial Reference Series of “World Class” products, it expands upon the fundamental principles and technologies established for its smaller sibling.

It too employs Aether Audio’s proprietary waveguide, hybrid bass loading and every other technological and construction principle within the Millennial Reference Series in order to achieve its unprecedented level of performance. In addition, the inclusion of a second identical woofer yields a classic “WTW” design, and therefore it exhibits certain unique performance features. Its specific configuration of drive elements makes it a superior choice for both higher dynamic-level two-channel use, and environments where vertical dispersion must be more tightly controlled.

While the second woofer literally doubles the Continuum A.D.’s long and short-term power handling, it is also vital for enabling the system to exhibit a symmetrical polar response in the vertical plane of +/- 15 degrees to either side of the tweeter/waveguide axis. The two woofers are connected in an exact electrical parallel configuration, and as such there is only one crossover from them to the tweeter/waveguide section.

Those three features make it an ideal solution for the most demanding studio monitoring or home theater applications. Seeing that the enclosure is a completely symmetrical shape, one straightforward application is to position it horizontally for use as the center channel loudspeaker in a world-class home theater setting.

Regardless of how it is used, you make take some comfort and maybe even a little pride in the fact that the Continuum A.D. is also the cornerstone of the next two larger models above it in the Millennial Reference Series. In that, and as a very unique value-added feature, it also incorporates our innovative “interlocking” mechanism.

By a process of simply removing a lower panel, the Continuum A.D. can then be “docked” with either one of the two lower modules comprising the Continuum 2.5 or the Revelation MR-2 systems. This feature then provides a direct upgrade path to either of those models at some later date. We are certain that you will find this capability alone to represent unprecedented value, as it helps to guarantee that your investment will never become obsolete… should you ever desire the additional bass performance that those two larger models offer.

In fact, apart from bass performance below 32Hz, the Continuum A.D. is literally identical in every other way to the upper modules of the Continuum 2.5 or the Revelation MR-2. All construction, drivers and crossover components are exactly the same. These facts then speak to the advanced performance capabilities of the Continuum A.D., as if it were otherwise, the critical acclaim those larger models have already received would have necessitated the use of some other configuration of components and construction.

In summery, the Continuum A.D. Mk IV is endowed with all of the performance specifications that qualify it as a true world-class reference monitor for professional use, yet going beyond that requirement, it provides a very realistic and natural musical presentation that must be heard to be believed. As a secondary benefit, the symmetrical dispersion in the vertical plane that results from the WTW/waveguide configuration make it suitable for the most demanding studio and home-theater applications. Finally, its innovative interlocking mechanism helps to secure your investment for many years to come. Regardless of your needs, you will find that it offers a rare combination of qualities that allow it to be equally at home in the most demanding studio, two-channel stereo and home A/V applications.
